Lo tera es una lenga chadica de la familha afroasiatica parlada en Nigèria.
Localisacion
Lo tera es parlat dins la zòna de govèrn local de Biu, dins l'estat de Borno, e dins l'estat de Gombi dins las zònas de govèrn de Gombi, d'Ako e de Dukku[1].
Classificacion
Lo tera es una lenga chadica classada per Gravina (2014) dins la branca sud del biu-mandara, ont fa partida del grop tera[2]. La lenga es un continuum dialèctal constituït del nyimatli (yamaltu), del pidlimdi e del bura kokura[1].
Escritura
Lo tera ten sa pròpia escritura dempuèi 1930, quand un missionari canadian desvolopèt un alfabet que serviguèt a traduire un evangèli. Un comitat de la lenga reformèt l'ortografia en 2004[3]. L'ortografia actuala es[4]:
