Localisacion e dialèctes
Lo vame es d'en primièr parlat dins los arrondiments de Tokombéré e de Mora del departament de Mayo-Sava. Los vame vivon dins la region de l'Extrèm-Nòrd[1].
La lenga es constituïda de cinc dialèctes, lo dumwa (dəmwa), lo ndreme, lo mbrem (mbərem), parlats dins lo canton de Mora-Massif, dins l'arrondiment de Mora, l'afam, l'hurzo (hurza), parlat dins lo canton de Mémé de l'arrondiment de Mora e lo plata (pəlasla), parlat dins lo canton de Mayo-Ouldémé del departament de Tokombéré[1],[2].
Classificacion
Lo vame es una lenga chadica classada per Gravina (2014) dins la branca biu-mandara, ont fòrma lo grop hurza amb lo mbuko[3].
