Tempranillo mahats beltz barietate ezaguna da. 2013an Espainiako Erresuman 214.000 hektarea baino gehiagoko laborantza-azalera zuen, eta bigarrena zen ekoizpenean, Airén (zuria) barietatearen ondoren, eta lehena mahats beltzean. 31.046 hektarea ditu Errioxa jatorri-deituran, hau da, Errioxa jatorri-deitura kalifikatuaren % 61.
